We're Back! Introducing GadgetMe Classic.

Has it really been almost two years? I had no idea that the server has been down that long. Someone really should have reported the outage to us! LOL — I'm thrilled to announce that GadgetMe is back in "classic" form with some plans for the future that will reinvent the "fan site".

Taking a look at back since GadgetMe.Com's last post, by Tim Hillebrand, on the Treo 500, the advance in consumer electronics is simply mind-blowing and exciting for all of us gadget enthusiasts. Gadgets have become faster, smaller, sleeker and dare I say smarter and more fun for everyone; not just the geeks.

Since Tim's last post, Palm® recently released the touch-screen PRE (with wireless charging), Apple released the iPhone not just once but three times and also released the iPod Touch and about 4 new variations of the iPods, such as the Shuffle, nano and original iPod, which is now the classic. Netbooks are gaining momentum in the portable computing space and who would have imagined at the time of Tim's last post that 42-inch LCD televisions would be selling for under $800, you could stream movies from Netflix or rent one from a vending machine or that we'd be watching IP-based television. GPS is literally everywhere: in our hand, our phone, our cars and even in our laptops. You get the idea, gadgetry is everywhere in every part of our daily life and GadgetMe is going to be there writing about it.

We plan to switch things up a bit by reporting on the creative and human interest angles of how technology is affecting our culture, as well as return to a review format that once made the PalmGuru, PocketAnywhere and GadgetMe a fun place to come and read about your favorite gadget. It's going to be fast, maybe not furious, fun and willing to stick around for and take another look.

So stay plugged in. We'll have a facebook page and maybe even a Twitter account up and running so come back in a day or so to see what's new.
